Days of Awe
Spiritual Adventure
Rosh Hashanah
and Yom Kippur
10 Days to Spiritual Growth
If you want to revitalize or enhance
your spiritual life and relationship with God, the church and
others, this Adventure will give you the tools to do that.
This spiritual Adventure and journal
was originally designed to be used during the 10 days of the 2006
Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement Seas on.
It has been updated and
enhanced for the 2009 Season. (*However
It can be used at any time. It would also make a great
10-week small group study. We will be working on a non-date
specific format soon. )
The Old Testament Feast of Trumpets
will start on the evening of Saturday, September 18, 2009. Yom
Kippur - The Day of Atonement will start on Monday evening,
September 28th. The eight days between the two holidays were
called AWESOME DAYS, because it was a time to reconnect
with God and prepare for the most holy and awesome day of the
Jewish year - Yom Kippur - The Day of Atonement. It is during
this time the Jews practice TESHUVAH or, A RETURNING
to the Lord. It was a season of prayer, reflection and
repentance. While Christians can do this any time, we usually
don't because we don't make the time or have a good resource to
guide us. This Biblical season is a good time to take time and
this resource is a great tool to help.
Please note, this
spiritual adventure is not an attempt to return to Judaism or
legalism. It
simply taking a Biblical pattern and applying it to our Christians
lives.
Jesus perfectly fulfilled
the Old Testament types and shadows for the Day of Atonement. We
can now enter into God's presence in a new and living way by the
blood of Jesus. You can read about this in Hebrews chapters 9 and
10.
The 10-day spiritual
journal is a day-by-day guide to prayer, reflection, repentance
and connecting with God that will seriously impact your spiritual
life. To make the most of your time with the Lord you
will want to add a blank page(s) between the days to record
thoughts, scriptures, prayers or answers to prayer, etc.
The Journal is free. You may print
as many copies as you want or need. Please leave the material as
is, with my name and copyright intact. The journal is set up to
be placed in a 3-ring binder or folder. Please share this with
others who you think might benefit from a focused time with the
Lord.
We would love to hear from you
concerning questions, comments or testimonies about this spiritual
adventure.
